Knife of Dreams: Chapter 20
Chapter Icon: Two Ravens
Elder Haman agrees to help close the Waygates near cities. Bashere informs Rand the Daughter of the Nine Moons agreed to meet him and he can have five people who can channel with him and one who can't. Nynaeve agrees to get Lan to the Borderlands but makes him promise he will ride to Fal Moran before entering the Blight and take anyone who wants to ride with him. He does and she leaves him at World's End in Saldaea. Nynaeve meets Weilin Aldragoran and persuades him to send to all merchants he corresponds with, saying that her husband rides from World's End towards Tarwin's Gap, toward Tarmon Gai'don and asking if he will ride alone.
Rand's Point of View:
Rand surveys the carnage with the Maidens, killing any of the wounded survivors. A servant arrives, to bring a note from Verin, informing him she has left to fulfil her oath elsewhere. She advises him to trust Cadsuane, but to be wary of all the other Aes Sedai, even those who have sworn to him. He hands the letter to Cadsuane, surprising her. Loial and Haman come to tell Rand that Loial is married and must leave, but Rand asks him to help find the Waygates near cities to seal them. He can't, but Elder Haman agrees.
Elza joins them escorting Bashere, who tells them that the Daughter of the Nine Moons has agreed to a meeting. She will be bringing six sul'dam and damane only and that Rand may bring five people who can channel with him and one who can't.
Nynaeve's Point of View:
Setting: Lord Algarin's manor; Saldaea
Nynaeve and Lan are inside. She wants to go outside, but he won't let her. She can see Donalo Sandomere and Arel Malevin, with Aisling Noon and Ayako Norsoni burning trolloc bodies. Lan is angry that Rand is focused on the Seanchan and not the Borderlands so Nynaeve decides to take him back there, first making him promise that he will ride to Fal Moran before entering the Blight and take anyone who wants to ride with him. She opens a gateway and they go through, to World's End in Saldaea, where she leaves him.
Weilin Aldragoran's Point of View:
Weilin Aldragoran is in an inn, negotiating the sale of some jewels with Pavil and Jeorg. After he is finished, he is interrupted by Nynaeve. She tells him she wants him to send a message to all merchants he corresponds with, saying that her husband rides from World's End towards Tarwin's Gap, toward Tarmon Gai'don and asking if he will ride alone. He tells her that Malkier is dead, but she replies that so long as one woman wears the ki'sain in pledge that she will send her sons to fight the Shadow and that one man wears the hadori in pledge that he will fight the Shadow, Malkier lives. He calls this madness, but it convinces him and he agrees to ride. He turns to Managan and Gorenellin and asks them if they remember their blood. Gorenellin replies "The Golden Crane flies for Tarmon Gai'don"
